Korean Adventures

Room wise, we have this large residential/ apartment suite where there is one twin bed, one king bed, one futon leather sofa, one kitchen, one washer for clothes, one bathroom, desks closets etc. Ivan sleeps on the floor, me and tina share the king bed, nick sleeps on the couch futon, and then Su stayed over last night so she slept on the twin. Normally, Ivan or Nick would take the twin bed but since Su stayed with us last night, they let her sleep on it.

Lunch yesterday was SUPER GOOD. Some kind of noodles that isnt made out of flour in this sauce which was very similar to that other japanese dish........the noodles in a dark brown sauce that tastes sweet..? It also had braised chicken in it. We also had this hotpot like thing where it was all red with seafood and rice cake flour sticks inside. That was good too but very spicy.

Omg we went shopping yesterday for about 4-5 hours and i bought about 200 USD worth of stuff. Two pairs of earrings, 3 pairs of shorts, 2 shirts, 1 necklace...and...dont remember ne more. I saw two pairs of heels that I am going to buy but since we shopped until 8pm, the guys got really bored because they were wandering around outside and eating stuff, and so we had to go and meet up with them for dinner. They actually took the subway and went to another location so we had to find them. It took maybe a half a hour to meet up with them.

Then we had KOREAN BBQ LAST NIGHT. No bugolgi though because Su said that Koreans never really eat bugolgi LOL! Strange huh!? Us foreigners just think that they eat bugolgi all the time but in actuality, they eat "sam gup sai" more often (pig belly meat...really fattening). I dont remember the name of the meat we ate but it was really good.

Vince and Su did the cooking because we had two stoves, and then you would wrap it in this green kimchi, dip it in this red hotsauce, then into bean curd powder, then into this sauce where you let onions float in it. SOOOO GOOD. KOREA HAS THE BEST FOOD EVER. Then! Since it is Buddah's birthday, they had these lantern celebrations at this canal. It was really really pretty.

We walked along the canal after dinner. Afterwards, we went in search of a Red Mango and we finally found it! It said it closes at midnight but when we went up there at 11pm, they were already closed! Red Mango serves soft serve yogurt ice cream, cakes, smoothies, coffee, really fun looking yogurt slushies, cool looking shaved iced treats. Since Red mango was closed, we went to another place where we had Soju cocktails. We got this strawberry mixture cocktail, and then a kiwi one. I guess Su and Vince didnt like the kiwi one, but i drank everything because it tasted like juice. Super yummy.
